Fuji Xerox Launches New Series of Multifunction Devices With Solutions Designed for the Age of Cloud and Mobile Computing

Manila, December 1, 2011 – Fuji Xerox Co., Ltd. is sequentially launching^*1 15 new products, including 11 models^*2 of full-color digital multifunction devices for office use--ApeosPort-IV C and DocuCentre-IV C series--, and four models^*3 for monochrome digital multifunction devices--ApeosPort-IV and DocuCentre-IV series.

All 15 models are equipped with the latest common controller software to provide advanced features that cater to the environment friendliness, convenience and new work styles.

Environmental performance that balances energy conservation with ease of use
All of the new models feature Fuji Xerox's proprietary Smart Energy Management Technology. The technology contributes to saving energy by only distributing power to areas actually used in the scanning unit, control panel, output unit or controller when a device recovers from the energy saving mode.

Furthermore, the nine models in the full-color digital multifunction device series, ApeosPort-IV C5575/C4475/C3375/C3373/C2275 and DocuCentre-IV C5575/C4475/C3375/C3373, are the first to feature Fuji Xerox's proprietary motion sensor technology--Smart WelcomEyes.  This technology uses two motion sensors that automatically wake up a multifunction device from the sleep mode when a user approaches the machine.  Coupled with the IH fusing technology that has the world's fastest^*4 startup time of just three seconds, the devices allow users to make a copy or to do other operations with hardly any waiting time.

Easy usability of advanced functions for enhanced convenience
The devices^*5 can also scan and convert hardcopies into editable Word or Excel® files^*6.  This function streamlines business operations by reducing the workload for manual text input, diagram drawing and other digitization tasks on existing hardcopy documents.

Enhanced work styles with cloud computing, mobile devices and various applications
With the Google Cloud Print function, these new devices offer Google Apps’ users from AndroidTM devices and iOS devices such as iPad™, iPhone® and iPod touch®, a simple and mobile print environment.  Users can enjoy this function without having to install the printer driver.  Similarly, users may utilize the Print Utility for iOS and Android users to print Web page, PDF & DocuWorks format document and photos directly from their devices

Energy conservation management solutions
The new and improved log management utility, ApeosWare Log Management 1.2^*7, introduces an additional feature to help reduce environmental footprints.  Users can simply track their eco level displayed on the control panels of the multifunction devices hence promoting their environmental awareness.  The utility also provides a power saving controlling function, which automatically sets the optimum transition time to the power saving mode, for not only the new models but also existing multifunction devices and printers.
